Tumblr Etiquette: Those Red Arrow Things

TUMBLR USERS!

I’m going to get as ahead of this as I possibly can. Just because you CAN put a red arrow next to your posts so that they “pop” on other people’s dashboards doesn’t mean you should do it for every pet post that you like slightly more than your usual. Don’t devalue your usual content, people. It already strikes me as something giving me permission to scroll past the arrowless stuff.

Also, those red arrows are already irritating in that I’ve seen them point at things that weren’t all that. You know, all that, as in with a bag of chips. I’ll get those red arrows too, but I’ll make sure to save them for announcements, I guess.

Far be it for me to be a turd and tell you all how to Tumbl. I deserve your disapproval if you read this and thought “what an asshat,” that much I admit. But this is from the heart, guys. Just please… those arrows are awful and they’ve been out about 5 hours.
