Oh this… is terrible news. I’ve mentioned this terrifying, childhood-ruining book on the blog before, pointing out how the artwork for how it guaranteed that I never slept as a kid. Well, it’s getting updated, and it just isn’t the same. Click through to see more examples of how previously awesome artwork will be losing its edge.
This is wrong. Very, very wrong. Why, when I was a kid, I read this book at night, basically wetting myself every 5 minutes, and staring at the illustrations until I was convinced that it moved and that a monster was going to gut me that night while I slept. Now that’s a real childhood.
You have it way too easy, today’s youth of America. Enjoy your pleasant, innocent dreams while I go and replace the bulbs on all my nightlights.
